Public Sector Cuts

David Cameron and Nick Clegg have written to public sector workers asking them to help find ways to “cut public spending in a way which is fair and responsible”.

As part of the Spending Review set out in this week’s Budget, the Government is launching a ‘Spending Challenge’ which is trying to get the country to think about public services and how they are provided.

Public sector workers are being asked to contribute their ideas to the “Spending Challenge” website at www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/spendingchallenge

Mr Kenny, general secretary of GMB union, said “Cameron and Clegg have a damned cheek in asking public sector workers to co-operate in sacking them. It is an utter outrage.”

What do you think?
